About
Hello,
Fwoosh! is where I post photos I take. I’ve always been into photography, I think. But it’s only been within the last 6 years that I’ve put some effort into it. It wasn’t just a rote thing to do during parties or events. It became another window of creativity and freedom for me, as well as a really easy way to connect with others through images.
When I was younger, a good camera and a chance at taking photos were more of a luxury and a familial necessity, than a source of instant gratification and sheer pleasure. I’ve grown up seeing my father dabble with photography and invest in good equipment. I have been wary of going anywhere near them for fear of breaking them. But I coveted them just the same.
My dad gave me my first digital camera back in 2001, I think. Or was it 2002? I can’t remember. It was a Canon Powershot S40. It served me well for 3 years, I would say. Within that time I borrowed his manual SLR Nikon while I took a beginner’s photography class under Val Davison. I enjoyed it very much. Sadly, I haven’t taken any more classes after that. However, I haven’t stopped taking photos since.
I don’t claim to be any good at this. I just love to share the sights I see. I like finding beauty in what’s in front of me. I get inspiration from the simple things in life and love sharing these simple joys.
I hope you enjoy my photos. And share yours, too.
Cheers,
Joy
