Author's Description:
Even sunsets –so common and ordinary — can seem so magical in Hawaii. There’s just no dismissing the grandeur of sunsets like this. It makes you stop, look, breathe in deep, smile, immediately clear your head of unnecessary clutter and let the beauty take over you. You enjoy the moment, perhaps a lot longer than you normally would.
Here’s to a good Monday…and week! I hope you will have many good moments that linger.
Taken in March 2007 in Maui, Hawaii with a Nikon Coolpix 5200.

I love moments like that, when you can really feel your shoulders drop and something inside you release.
The last long lingering moment for me was by the Blue Lake over the holidays when we got a cove to ourselves. It made me completely present in that exact moment of my life (and the feeling still lingers).
I love the light beams you captured on this one.

@Emily, I live for these moments.
Is that the one you posted on Flickr? I fell in love with it. It looks like the Emerald Lake here in BC! I love the light beams, too. I remember telling my friend that I have to take a pic and share it!

@Joy, Yes that’s the one! The photo was taken about a five minute walk from where we were sat. There were birds - baby birds even - twittering around us and being fed by the parents. One bird hopped right by my foot and started to drink at the edge of the lake. Beautiful
